William Willoughby, 11th Baron Willoughby de Eresby, major Lincolnshire landowner, associated with Grimsthorpe and Parham.
Dates: Born 1482; succeeded in 1499; died 14 October 1526
Biography
Elder son of Christopher Willoughby and Margaret Jenney. He succeeded to the de Eresby barony in 1499. His first marriage was to Mary Hussey, daughter of Sir William Hussey, Chief Justice of the King's Bench; his second marriage was to María de Salinas, lady-in-waiting to Catherine of Aragon. He died leaving a daughter, Katherine, by María de Salinas. The absence of a surviving male heir allowed the separate Parham cadet line descending from his brother Sir Christopher to develop into the 1547 barony.
