Sir John Wray, 12th Baronet, 12th Baronet of Glentworth, landed proprietor of Sleningford, Yorkshire, and Glentworth, Lincolnshire.
Dates: 24 October 1689–26 January 1752
Biography
Sir John Wray was the son of William Wray and Isabella Ullithorne, and grandson of Cecil Wray, a younger son of Sir Christopher Wray and Albinia Cecil. He succeeded his uncle Sir Cecil Wray, 11th Baronet, in 1736. His marriage to Frances Norcliffe brought the Norcliffe heiress connection into the line. Their son Sir Cecil Wray became the 13th Baronet, while their daughter Isabella married John Dalton and transmitted the estates to the Dalton family after the later Wray extinction.
