Location / boundary notes:

Identity: confirmed — The TNA/MDR record F244508 and authority reference GB/NNAF/M220671 identify Astley Abbots Manor in Shropshire. Historical research by Robert William Eyton identifies Astley Abbots, also called Astley Brug, as a manor associated with the former Morville estate and records Nordley and other named hamlets and tenements as members of the manor. The associated suit rolls and presentments naming Astley Abbots with Nordley are consistent with this identification.
Representative point: 52.5638, -2.4323
Basis: documented_manor_house — Manor Farm House, Astley Abbots, at National Grid Reference SO7078296293, is the surviving named manor-house/manor-farm site within the historic manor settlement. Historic England records the building as an eighteenth-century house incorporating earlier timber framing; the site is also independently located by contemporary geographic records as Manor Farm in Astley Abbots.
Point confidence: medium
Boundary status: representative_point_only
Boundary period: Medieval to nineteenth century, with extent changing over time
Boundary confidence: none
Boundary basis: No authoritative web-accessible manor map, estate plan, rental map, or other source was found that supplies a defensible perimeter for the historical manorial land. Eyton records the manor as five hides in 1255 and identifies Little Astley, Nordley (formerly Norley), Croft, Haughton, Kingslow, Road, Stanley, Dunvall, Colemore, Severn Hall, Cantreyn, Rucroft, Bunewall, and other places as hamlets, messuages, or tenements found at different periods as members of the manor. These documented members demonstrate a dispersed territorial extent but do not define a single reconstructable boundary. The modern civil parish must not be substituted for the manor boundary.

Warnings / uncertainty:
- The representative point is based on the surviving Manor Farm House/manor-farm site and should not be interpreted as the geometric centre of all historical manorial lands.
- The historical manor appears to have included dispersed members outside the immediate village, but the sources found do not provide enough boundary evidence to create a reliable polygon.
- The listed constituent places represent recorded manorial membership at varying dates and should not automatically be treated as one continuous territory.
