Dates: Died 1568; Bishop of St Davids, 1536-1548
Biography
William Barlow was a sixteenth-century English reforming bishop. As Bishop of St Davids, he petitioned for the removal of Abergwili College to Brecon and established the later practice of using the former college buildings at Abergwili as the principal episcopal residence.
Notes / Sources
His role is evidence for the episcopal use and administration of Abergwili, not for a personal freehold separate from the bishopric.
