Dates: Corporate body; acquisition of Aconbury estate in 1731
Biography
The Governors of Guy's Hospital administered the hospital's endowed estates and acquired the former Chandos property at Aconbury in 1731. They were described in nineteenth-century sources as lords of the manor of Aconbury.
Notes / Sources
This is a corporate holder, not a natural person. The 1961 Guy's Hospital estate catalogue evidences continued possession of Aconbury Court Farm but is not treated as conclusive evidence of continued manorial title.
