British peer, diplomat, soldier and Royal Navy officer who succeeded to the earldom of Orford in 1894. He is the Earl of Orford identified as lord of the manor of Alby in the 1896 directory evidence.

The directory names the title rather than the individual; identification with Robert Horace Walpole is based on the holder of the earldom in 1896.
