Philip Tilney, Esquire of Shelley, Suffolk
Dates: Died 13 March 1602
Biography
Philip Tilney was a Suffolk landowner associated with Shelley and other estates. He is directly documented as granting an annuity issuing from the manor of Aldham near Hadleigh, Suffolk, and the local manorial report records him as owner in 1580.
Notes / Sources
The 1572 annuity document evidences an interest in Aldham but does not itself establish the date or instrument by which he acquired the lordship.
