Mary Thompson, daughter of Jane Beckwith and Beilby Thompson, inherited Aldburgh Hall from her maternal grandfather in 1743 and died in childbirth in 1756.

The sale was made by her trustees; the transfer is recorded as a trustee sale rather than an inferred personal conveyance by Mary.
