Biography
A younger son of the 3rd Marquess of Exeter, John married Isabella Maud Joicey in 1896 and assumed Joicey as an additional surname in 1898. His name change was connected to the Northumberland Joicey estates and to a legal and heraldic problem concerning arms used by the Joicey family. He represented Stamford in Parliament from 1906 to 1910 and served during the First World War.
