Biography
Anglo-Irish diplomat and politician, younger brother of Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington, and Richard Wellesley, 1st Marquess Wellesley. He was born Henry Wesley and legally adopted the surname Wellesley in 1789. He was created Baron Cowley of Wellesley in 1828 and died at the British Embassy in Paris.
