George Neville, Knight, son of Edward Neville, later associated with the barony of Bergavenny through his family
Dates: Died 1492
Biography
George Neville was a fifteenth-century landholder who acquired the manors of Halton, Burton Stather and Alkebarowe in the 1449 Lincolnshire fine.
Notes / Sources
The fine directly links him to Alkebarowe; the later identification of him as the seller to Westminster Abbey is supplied by a modern study of the abbey's estates.
