Source-derived pedigree information

The pedigree begins with Guy Fairfax of Steeton, identified as one of the judges of Common Pleas and third son of Richard Fairfax of Walton. It records successive Fairfax generations, marriages into Ryther, Gascoigne, Manners, Thwaytes, Gale, Aske, Palmes and other Yorkshire families, and continues through Sir Thomas Fairfax of Steeton, living in 1584, and Sir Ferdinando Fairfax, living in 1612. The 1612 continuation records Edmund Fairfax, Lord Sheffield and Lord President of York, together with several sons and daughters. The layout and OCR are imperfect; relationships are retained only where the pedigree makes them reasonably explicit.

Notes

This is a substantial multi-generation Yorkshire gentry pedigree with collateral branches and marriages into the Ryther, Manners, Gascoigne, Thwaytes, Gale, Aske, Curwen, Sheffield and Constable networks. OCR should be checked against the page images before assigning every child to a particular parent.
