Source-derived pedigree information
The Yafforth branch is represented by Ralph Danby, also reported in later material as Ralph or Robert Danby of Yafforth/Yafford, who married Margaret Conyers of Cowton, daughter of Sir Richard Conyers. The recorded children include Margaret or Margery Danby, who married Ralph Rokeby of Mortham; Alice Danby, who married John Acklam/Acclom; and Agnes Danby, who married James Strangways of Ormesby and/or Sneaton. The source tradition associates Ralph/Robert Danby with death at Bosworth on 22 August 1485, but the Ralph/Robert form and some dates should not be treated as fully reconciled identities.

Notes
The principal fragment is source-identifiable through the 1881 Harleian Society edition of the Yorkshire visitation material, whose bibliographic details are confirmed by library and Google Books records. The online index and associated pedigree references support the Yafforth Danby descent, but the printed Harleian volume is a compilation of visitation materials and should not automatically be treated as a single chronological 1563–64 snapshot. The 1540 will of Margery Rokeby of Yafford provides an independent documentary confirmation that she was a daughter and coheir of Ralph or Robert Danby of Yafford and widow of Ralph Rokeby of Mortham.
